I. Suck.

I don't know what made me think that I had extra time on my hands this month to start a blog. This has been the month of CRAZY! Anyways wanted to pop in because I have super exciting news about something super pretty! I got the call from my "sister" that she no longer has another wedding booked on our day and she's going to be our photographer! Karen Ard is SO awesome. Now the countdown is on that I gotta get my butt in shape for our engagement shoot.

P.S. Isn't my mom gorgeous? Karen shot her wedding too :)

Etsy. I. Love. You.

There is something so sinfully pleasurable about this site. When I first discovered it I used it as an inspiration point. Somewhere where I'd go to steal ideas to try myself and successfully fail and have to buy from the seller anyway. Now that I'm planning a wedding I've discovered a whole new side to Etsy. Right now I'm trying to find the perfect invitation and of course am finding everything but that.  See cuteness below.

LOVE the wrought iron gazebo with the pomanders and crystal!

What an adorable flower girl dress!!

Great candle holder idea (or even place cards!). I may attempt myself with that chalkboard paint I see on HGTV all the time.

Something blue? Me thinks YES!

Does the baby come with the headband??

We could be here all day. If you've been living under a rock and haven't checked out Etsy by all means, GO. NOW.
Sidenote: Etsy has not paid me in any way for this endorsement (but if a rep would like to I gladly accept payment with goods)

Oh. Come. ON!

See this is a prime example of why I should always patent and create items as soon as I have the idea (or steal it from a significant other). Let me back up. As I said before my fiance and mom are quite worried about me falling on my wedding day. I mean, it wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the fact that I currently have 8 staples in my head from a fall in a bathroom that resulted in a trip to the ER last week (on my birthday no less). Anyway.. yes I'm clumsy, I get it. The on going joke has been that they want to put me in bubble wrap and a helmet for the wedding. Well someone beat me to it!!! Minus the helmet.

On a completely unrelated bubble popping note... what are your thoughts on a Trash the Dress shoot? I have been going back and forth about whether to splurge and buy my dress or rent it from this completely awesome place for pennies. Obviously if I rent it there goes my Trash the Dress shoot. These fun and playful pics are really swaying me to make the jump and just buy it. Thoughts people?

A bridesmaids Trash the Dress?! Totally lovin'!!!

There is something so freeing and special about shoots like these. After 9+ months of planning and tip toeing around this special dress you finally get to tell it to "go to hell." I especially think this is a great Thank You gift to your husband since he's had to deal with the insanity and would probably have been content running to Vegas and having Chewbaca marry you guys. I mean really... why would you preserve it just to sit in the attic for years to come? Then again.. maybe my granddaughter would want to wear it. Once again. Decisions. Who would've thought wedding planning would have so many deep life choices?! ;)

First. Post. Ever.

Let this moment go down in world history. Petals N Stilettos has arrived!! Honestly I don't know what better describes me than a blog about amazing flower arrangements and shoes (and everything a wedding or event has in between!). While planning my own wedding I've realized that I really have a passion for all things pretty and want to share it with everyone, but I'm quite positive my bridesmaids are tired of email chains that resemble the following:

Me: "OMG! You guys, look at how adorable this centerpiece is!!"
1st bridesmaid: "So cute! That'll look great with your venue!!"  (see this is why she's my MOH)
2nd bridesmaid: "Did you change your color scheme again?"
3rd bridesmaid: "I thought you already decided on your centerpiece?"
Me: "Oh I did decide, and no I'm not changing, I just love this and thought you guys would too."
2nd bridesmaid: "Can you start sending these types of emails to my personal email and not my work? I'm pretty sure my boss is going to catch on to the wedding planning with the 10+ emails a day about flowers, shoes, and whether or not to include umbrellas in the margaritas"

So here I am, taking the pressure off all my single bridesmaids who obviously don't have the same passion for pretty as I do (or maybe they're just sick of it since they've been hearing me obsess for years) and sharing these wonders with YOU!

First off. Can we please talk about this gorgeous (and reasonably priced at $69) stiletto?! It comes in 9 fab colors, but right now I'm completely crushing on all things deep purple. I've really been contemplating what type of shoe to wear for the wedding. While I live in 4 inch stilettos I know that running around on Spanish tiles all day is going to have me barefoot by nightfall. Plus I'm pretty clumsy. Not just a little clumsy, but clumsy to the point where my mom is dreading the fact that the bridal room is on the 2nd floor of the venue and the only way down is stairs that are at the back of the room where all the guests will be staring as I make my entrance. Let's just pray I don't eat it. So this has been my dilemma; do I sacrifice beauty (that no one is really going to see until I obviously lift my dress up to show them) in order to save me a trip to the ER on my wedding day? Decisions. Hence why I love this shoe. 3" heel, supportive back and side strap and no front platform. This is definitely in the top 25 of contenders (Don't judge me. I told you I'm having a dilemma!)
